BY-LAWS

ARTICLE I

The name of the group shall be 'The Villages Minnesota Club'.

ARTICLE II

The Villages Minnesota Club is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide social opportunities for its members.

The club will meet on the third Monday of each month from October thru April at Laurel Manor Recreation Center.

ARTICLE III

Section 1   Membership in this club is open to all residents of The Villages, Florida who used to reside in Minnesota. A one-time $7 charge goes to each new member for a name badge.
Section 2    Activities will be primarily self-supporting on a pay-as-we-go basis, but also will be subsidized by the collection of annual dues of $5 per member and the selling of 50/50 raffle tickets at meetings.
Section 3    Those members who have not paid their annual dues by the end of the following summer, will be dropped from our roster.
Section 4    Social gatherings will be organized throughout the club year.  A brief business meeting may be included as needed.

ARTICLE IV Board of Directors

The Minnesota Club shall be governed by a board consisting of five (5) or more member couples.  The duties of governing the club, which includes the functions of president, secretary, treasurer, web-site administrator, e-mail administrator, and event co-ordinator, will be handled by the member, or members, of the board most qualified and willing.

Selection of replacement members of the board shall be the responsibility of the current board and shall be undertaken when a current member requests to be relieved of their duties on the board.

ARTICLE V

Moneys collected for dues or events shall be deposited immediately into the club's bank account and any refunds granted by the board shall be paid out at the next regularly scheduled meeting.  Refunds will generally not be granted in the week prior to an event, especially if it is a catered event where the cost is dictated by the number of members attending.  Members will be encouraged to find replacements rather than requesting a refund, and a waiting list will be started if attendance is over the limit.

ARTICLE VI

Amendments to these by-laws shall be made and approved by a majority vote of the members of the board.
